Your Gift of Time: What Will You Make Of It?

Time is an equalizer, because we can't buy it, earn it, or give it away.  It's easy math, there are 24 HOURS in a day and 7 DAYS in a week.  Each and every one of us is given this same gift of time each week of 168 HOURS!!  Sounds like a lot, right?  Let's take a closer look!

We've got a few basics that we can negociate a little.  The first is sleeping which makes up, on average, 7 hours a night or 49 hours a week (Unless you're a new mom!)  Eating makes up about 2 hours a day or 14 hours a week.  Lastly, exercise varies but give or take can be about 5 hours a week.  These add up giving us 68 hours.  We're left with 100 hours for the rest of the living that we do each week!

Well, for those that work outside of the home, add on another 40-60 hours.  Now there's not a lot of time left!  Our job is to juggle those 100 hours to spend time doing what we need to do and to enjoy all the important people in our lives.  Whether we chose to spend time with our loved ones, enjoy our hobbies and pastimes, invest in our health and wellness, build a home business or relax and have fun, we have the task of balancing our time.

We all have the same gift of time.  What will you make of yours?

Dani :)

Wow, 100 hours! It doesn't feel like that much.

I have my own special philosophy about time.  No matter what I'm doing at the moment, I do my best to embrace and enjoy it.  For me, every single day brings on a whole new set of challenges.  No two days are the same.  I lead a life that contains a lot of unpredictability so I just go with the flow.
You're right.  Time is a blessing!  And how we choose to make use of that blessing is up to each and every one of us – unless you're a mom like me!  Then your children will make use of that blessing for you. :)

Time is definately a blessing and you're so right about motherhood!  I think my average sleep is only 5 hours a night with 2 toddlers…does that make me more productive then? LOL

Then I'd have to say you're exceptionally blessed! I average about 3 – 4 hours of sleep.   And my youngest daughters are teenagers! :)
